The 2011 Golden Globes will be sure to bring out the updo hairstyles in droves.  This year is expected to be the year of the updo and the first major celebrity event of 2011 will have them all on display.

All eyes will be on Natalie Portman especially as the Black Swan star will be one of the favorites.  On recent red carpet events Natalie has dazzled with stunning elegant updos.  As she enters into A-list status, she no longer can enter these events unnoticed.

Angelina Jolie will also be a focus of attention as she is nominated for several awards.  Her red carpet updos are consistently fabulous and this year should be no different.

Experts predict a wide array of hairstyles to grace the red carpet, ranging from short updos to retro extravagant looks.  The Golden Globe Awards often dictate the trends for the coming year and you can be sure that the updo hairstyle will be THE hairstyle for 2011, much as it was for 2010.

Last year we saw the rise of the braided updo come into play as well as Kim Kardashian’s retro updo that set the celebrity world a buzz.  Whatever is in store for this year will be much decided on the red carpet this week.  You can be sure that we will be watching very closely.

I can’t wait for this weekend…although it’s painful watching E! from the red carpet, I am dying to see the new hairstyles for 2011. I’m wondering who will step it up and make some waves!!

I saw a lot of traditional updos, as well as some new takes on classic styles. I have done many wedding hair styles for brides who bring me pictures taken at the golden globes. The ladys on the red carpet looked fantastic!
