So, he finally popped the question!
Maybe you’ve been waiting for a few years or maybe you just met. Either way, you need to plan a
wedding! At this point we hope that you have things under control and are just finishing up some final
touches. Unfortunately we have come across a number of brides who have taken care of everything…accept for
one of the most important parts of the wedding. Their hairstyle!
Let’s assume that you have already decided that you want an updo. As you might have realized upon reading
through our site, Updo Guru always advocates the updo hairstyle (hence our name). Now all you need to do is
find that perfect updo for you. Not to put any more pressure on you than you probably already have, but after
all, your wedding day will most likely be the most memorable day of your life! This being said, you want to
make sure that you look your absolute best.
To make it a little bit easier to decide what kind of wedding updo that you want, let’s play a little game. For
sake of simplicity we have chosen four types of updos and four personality types. Try to match the updo with
a personality that suits it and see if your answers match ours below (no peeking!).

Here are two tips to remember before the big day…
Plan ahead!
We stress this one. Make sure you have your updo appointment scheduled with your stylist as far in advance as
possible. When the date is approaching, give your stylist a call just to confirm the appointment.
All of us at Updo Guru also recommend that you do a trial run before the big day. It’s a good idea to see
exactly what your updo will look like and not leave anything to chance.
This will also leave room for style changes or ideas that you may have about how your updo should look.
You may also want to bring a trusted “style” friend to the trial styling, in order to get a second opinion.
Even though it’s your day, it doesn’t hurt to have some helpful guidance in the updo hairstyle department!
Accessorize!
We do not usually recommend accessories for every updo or special event; however, a wedding is a whole different
ballgame. 2010 looks like it might go down as “the year of the accessory” after the wedding season has
ended.
From extremely basic to ornate and elaborate, the wedding updo hairstyle accessory possibilities are seemingly
endless. Just remember that updo accessories should NOT be used as substitutes for the actual style of the
updo!
