While she is partial to the sleek elegant look, she’s also worn some lovely braided updos to several formal
events recently. She might be most known for her retro hairstyles from her beak out movie The
Notebook, but her updos will be the most popular inspirations for weddings and prom this upcoming
season.
Rachel is the classic girl next door and is a throw-back actress to a different generation. Her sweet
southern bell on-screen appearance (with the exception of her Mean Girls character!) has catapulted her to global
stardom. She is one of the most versatile actors in the business and will be one of the most sought after
performers in 2011 and well beyond.
When it comes to updos, Rachel is by no means timid. She has fearlessly displayed a wide array of updo
styles, ranging from messy and braided to sleek and pulled back. While we are always partial to braids, we
have a number of favorite updos from Rachel.
Rachel McAdams Elegant Updo

This is a very formal look from Rachel that could be an excellent hairstyle for prom. Her hair is pulled
back but not too tightly. Some side strands and left out to allow for a slightly softer feel. She
likely has applied some excellent hair product to achieve the sustainability of this look.
Rachel McAdams Braided Updo

This is our absolute favorite from McAdams. This is a very fun yet elegant updo which implores a number of
different elements. The hair is pulled and covered with a pair of long braids that wind around to the bun in
back. Soft tendrils float innocently to the sides of her face helping to frame her bright smile. The
updo is topped off with a lovely flower that matches her lipstick. Every small detail adds to the greatness
of this updo.
Rachel McAdams Retro Updo

Here Rachel sports a retro style quiff pulled back into a glamorous ponytail updo. A truly unique look
that was the talk of this premiere for her new movie Sherlock Holmes. This quiff is the highest
we’ve seen from Rachel as this look is gaining momentum so far this year. This is really taking it to the
extreme and we applaud her efforts. She is the fashion setter for 2010 so look for this updo to be repeated
throughout the year.
Rachel McAdams Classic Updo

For this appearance Rachel is sporting a classic updo with side tendrils framing the face on each side.
This is a perfect look for her heart shaped face. Half-up half down also look fabulous on Rachel and her
hairstylist has truly worked some magic over the years.
Updo Guru Celebrity Trivia Tidbit: Rachel worked at McDonalds for a few summers before
beginning her acting career.
Here are some of our favorite Rachel McAdams on-screen performances:
The Notebook
Wedding Crashers
Sherlock Holmes
Updo Guru Bold Prediction for 2010: Rachel McAdams will go public with a secret romance that
