Natalie Portman Updo at Venice Film Awards

Natalie Portman stole the show at the 67th Annual Venice Film Awards.  All eyes were on her updo hairstyle that carried the look of a princess. 

Her red carpet look was signified by the half up half down side knot  hairstyle that everyone is talking about. 

The updo is a very sleek, sophisticated look that provides a creative alternative to the normal side bun.  The extra little side curls and braids are just gorgeous.  While short hair has suited Natalie well, this might be the best updo she’s ever styled. 

Updos were the focus of the night as many stars dawned versions of their own.  Jessica Alba sported a fabulous top knot with gorgeous side tendrils exquisitely placed on each side.  But none topped Natalie’s Rodarte dress and goddess like updo combination.

While this may not be the easiest look to recreate at home, you can try your own variations by starting with a side bun and then experimenting with strategically placed braids and curls. 

Braids are sure to add a certain level of ‘cuteness’ to any updo, however when coupled with the side bun, they are irresistible.

Natalie has always been a trendsetter when it comes to hairstyles and you can expect this one to catch fire as well.  It’s such a simple look that demands attention. 

Natalie’s star power has shot up this week as there was a strong buzz about her new movie, Black Swan. If you ask us however, the buzz is really about how the nailed the perfect look with seemingly no effort. 

While we don’t know what goes on backstage, rest assured, many will be trying to replicate this hairstyle regardless of level of difficulty.
