Easy Updo Hairstyles – Messy Bun With Loose Sides

We love the messy bun updo.  When done correctly it can add lots of attitude and elegance to your look.  To get a cool messy bun with loose sides, first put your hair up.  Using your favorite product sparingly, you can select some strands to pull out either from the front or the side. 

Once you have positioned them correctly, you can create a unique style that suits your hair length.  The longer your hair, the more creative you can get with this easy updo hairstyle.  Another great option you might want to try is to do a double bun messy updo.  This works great with medium length hair. 

You don’t see the double bun look too often but it adds a funky flavor to any look.  It is a bit bolder so be ready to be noticed if you decide to go with this style.  The double buns can be done symmetrically or uneven, the choice is up to you.  I know that when you think double bun you are probably thinking about the Princess Leia look. 

What we have seen are some ultra sheik variations of the Leia look that have looked fantastic (and yes, I’ve seen the Kim Kardashian Leia photos!)   For shorter hair you can still do the messy double bun updo but it should give off a funky vibe ala Gwen Stefani. 

Easy Updo Hairstyles – Half Up High Updo

Here is another easy updo hairstyle to try if you are short on time.  This style can be worn with medium or long hair.  Try slicking back both sides of your head.  Arrange the hair on the top of your hair in a poof style.  Once you get the quick and easy poof you can unleash some of the hair from one side of your head.  This will give you an ultra cool half up half down updo.  When done right, this easy updo hairstyle will definitely turn heads!
