This summer’s wedding season will bring an array of fabulous updos. Bridal updo hairstyles are the ‘must dos’ for 2010 and will be seen in vast
numbers over the next few months. While we certainly have nothing against other hairstyles, updos are simply the
most elegant and practical selection for brides to be.
Messy and elegant will be the most common this season while
classic and formal will also be commonly worn. While in other sections of this website we have suggested a number
of do-it-yourself updos, your wedding day is an exception where you should splurge to have your hair done right and
by a professional.
Add Curls to the Updo
Adding curls to the updo will give a more romantic and elegant feel. If you have long hair, we suggest Megan Fox
inspired updos or Audrina Patridge type styles. The Audrina half up half down style will likely be a popular look
this prom and wedding season. Here is a how to video of the Megan Fox red carpet look. This tightly pulled back
updo is an elegant hairstyle that would suit any bride with longer hair.
Elegant Bridal Updo
Here is a video of how to create a fabulous wedding updo with plenty of height and pizzazz. If you are looking
for a retro style then this might be the look for you. The accessories add a bit of a modern touch which complete
this look.
Important Reminder!
It’s important to remember when choosing the updo style for your wedding that you find a hairstyle to match both
your face shape and personality. Your hairstylist will be able to help with this and will know your hair best.
Short Hair Updos
If you have shorter hair, then we might suggest a Keira Knightley or Natalie Portman inspired look. You don’t
need long locks to pull off a red carpet hairstyle. If you are looking for something off the cuff then perhaps a
funky or retro updo is what you might be after.
The video below shows how to create a popular Eva Mendez inspired short hair updo that has a very elegant
appeal. This video makes it look easy to do at home but for your wedding please leave it to the hairstyle
professionals!
Important Tip!
Don’t go with a brand new look for your big day that you haven’t tried on for size. Do a
test run of your bridal updo or perhaps a few of them if you have the time and resources. Consult with your
hairstylist if you are unsure what face shape you have.
